Pokhara—Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara is to host 24th Pokhara Street Festival from December 28 to January 1 at Lakeside, a tourist center in Pokhara.
The festival will cover the 3-kilometer area from Fishtail gate, Khahare Chowk to Jarebar. The festival aims the promotion of tourism as well as the development of Pokhara as a destination of New Year celebration as per Gregorian calendar.
Cultural shows, food exhibition, folk duet songs, musical concerts, boat and waiter race, open veterans’ tennis, tug of war and documentary shows will be the attractions of the festival, informed festival coordinator and REBAN Pokhara Chairman Naresh Bahadur Bhattarai. Organizer expects 4 lakhs visitors in the festival. It is said that the hotels will offer 20 percent discount in hotel rooms during the festival.
Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal Chairman Laxman Subedi, Federation of Nepali Journalists Kaski President Bimala Bhandari, REBAN Pokhara vice chairman Bishwo Raj Paudel and general secretary Bikash Bhattarai also expressed their views during the press meet.
