10 teams to fight for Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup

Pokhara—A total of 10 teams are to participate in the 22nd Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup Football Tournament, which will take place from 29 December to January 7 at Pokhara Stadium.

Nepal APF Club, Manang Marshyangdi Club, Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Football Club, Machhindra Football Club, Sankata Club, Church Boys United Football Club, Bhutanese Youth Sports Club Minnesota USA, Dharan Football Club, and host team Sahara Football Club will fight for the title.

According to Sahara Club Chairman Hariram Gurung, the winning team will bag Rs 1.2 million and the runner-up will get Rs 6 lakhs. The best scorer, man of the match, and fair play team will also receive the prize money. The host club has also been running Sahara Academy at Dobilla in Pokhara where 13 helpless children from 10 districts learn football and take study facilities, informed SCP general secretary Ramji Prasad Adhikari.

National Sports Council member Rajesh Kumar Gurung, Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward 9 chairman Dipendra Marshani, SCP senior vice chairman Keshav Raj Baral, main sponsor Him Shree Foods Pvt Ltd director duo Kiran KC, Prakash KC and SAP founding chairman Basata Thakali also put their views during the press meet organized to inform about the preparation of the tournament on Tuesday.
