Eight persons arrested for illegally possessing a pistol in Pokhara

This is not a real picture of that pistol which police seized in Pokhara.

Pokhara—Police have arrested eight persons for allegedly possessing an illegal pistol at Lakeside in Pokhara on Tuesday morning.

The pistol was recovered from a private car that they were travelling. They have been nabbed at a day when CPN-Maoist is organizing a Nepal bandh strike. Police however claimed that they are not political activists and even don’t’ concern with that strike. They have been said to be a members of a real estate group of Tanahun District.

According to Lakeside base Baidam ward police office Inspector Mohan Mani Adhikari, the pistol they recovered is not so modern and was recovered during a security check. Police also failed to tell where the pistol was made.
