Nepal Police Club enter final of Aaha Rara Gold Cup

By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara—Nepal Police Club (NPC) advanced to the final of 16th Aaha Rara Football Tournament in Pokhara Stadium today. Defeating Dharan Football Club (DFC) 1-0 in penalty, NPC made a berth in the final of the tournament.

Roman Limbu of DFC tackled NPC’s Ravi Paswan in D area and referee Sudish Kumar Pandey provided the opportunity of spot kick to NPC. Suman Lama of NPC did his job without any mistake in 23rd minutes to take his team in the final of the tournament.

Five time including Caravan Gold Cup winner NPC will take on four time winner Three Star Club in the final match to be played on coming Saturday. TSC is also a winner of Madan Bhandari Memorial Itahari Gold Cup. NPC Satrughan Chaudhari was given the prize of man of the match.

NPC coach Ananta Raj Thapa said that his team played as per his strategy and won the match. Opponent Dharan manager Ashok Rai expressed his dissatisfaction over the decision of penalty kick.
