Junko Tabei dies at the age of 77

Recentfusion.com—Kathmandu: Junko Tabei who is the first woman to climb Mt Everest died at the age of 77 in Saitamal Hospital on Thursday morning. Japanese climber Tabei was suffering from peritoneal cancer.

The Mount Everest which is the tallest (8,848m) mountain in the world was summated by Tabei at the age of 35 in 1975.

According to Japanese broadcaster NHK, she did not stop her climbing work even after she was diagnosed with cancer four year ago. Nepali people shocked from the news of her death.
