Inter-ward level volleyball tournament from April 20 in Pachbhaiya

Pokhara—Pachbhaiya Pragatisheel Youth Forum (PPYF) is to organize a first inter Ward Level Volleyball Tournament from April 18 to 20, 2019 at Pachbhaiya of Pokhara Metropolitan City- 31. PMC ward 31 is going to support the tournament that will be taken part by some 40 ward level teams, informed PPYF chairman Sunil Thapa in a press meet held at Pachbhaiya on Moday.

The PPYF said that the tourism promotion through sports activities and acquiring identity and development of local destinations are the key objectives of the tournament which will take place at the volleyball court of Amarsiddha Namuna Secondary School.

According to Sports coordinator Purushottam Adhikari, the volleyball teams from the wards of three rural municipalities and one metropolitan city of Kaski district are eligible to take part in the tournament that has offered Rs 50,000 cash as a first prize.

Similarly, first runner up will bag Rs 30,000 cash. According to information, some 13 teams have already registered their names. The forum has expected Rs 70,000 saving from the tournament that will see the expected expenses of Rs 5, 80,000.

Best player, best spiker and best lifter will also get the prize money. The saving from the tournament will be invested to develop a multipurpose play ground at Gaighat of Pachbhaiya. The ward office will also support the forum to develop that ground which will have a land area of about 10 ropanis. Tournament publicity coordinator Rishikanta Paudel and PPYF former secretary Dhanbahadur Gurung also delivered their views during the press meet.
