Three killed in jeep-taxi collision

Bara—At least three persons were killed and two other injured when a jeep and taxi collided at Nijgadh of Bara district on Friday night. Deceased have been identified as taxi driver Samundra Shrestha, 28, of Bhaktapur, Aakash Majhi, 25, of Nijgadh and Bishal Majhi, 25 of same place. All of them were travelling the taxi.

Aakash and Bishal took their final breath at a health center in Nijgadh while driver Samundra succumbed to injuy at Chure Hill Hospital in Hetauda. Naresh Majhi, 28, and Arjun Majhi, 21 got injured in the incident. They are being treated in Chitwan base medical college.

The incident occurred near Bhamar Bridge along the Eash-West Highway in Nijgadh Municipality- 9 at midnight. The jeep was heading for Lalbandhi from Chitwan after selling vegetables and the taxi was coming from Simara. According to police inspector Bikash Bom, the taxi which was about to touch highway from rural road lost the control and hit the bolero jeep which was on its speed on the highway.
