
Pokhara—Paschimanchal Volleyball Association grabbed the title of beach volleyball tournament in Pokhara on Sunday. Beating Armed Police Force team A 21-19 and 21-19 in a final match, PVA bagged Rs 30,000 cash prize including medal and shield. The runner up APF team bagged Rs 20,000 including trophy, medal and certificate.
Bhupendra Gurung and Ramesh Karki of PVA beat Kul Bahadur Karki and Bhoj Bahadur BK of APF in a court of Barahi Ghat to grab the title. APF had thrashed organizer KDVA and PVA thrashed APF team B in semi finals to enter the final.
Gandaki Province assembly member Rajiv Pahari, Kaski District Sports Development Committee Chairman Yam Bahadur Gurung and organizer Kaski District Volleyball Association Chairman Bhim Parajuli distributed the prized in a concluding ceremony.
PVA’s Bhupendra Khadka became best player of the tournament to receive Rs 5,000 cash including the trophy of fair play. A total of 22 teams took part in the tournament, informed tournament coordinator Pahari.
