Journalist Barsha awarded in Pokhara

Pokhara—Journalist Jamuna Barsha Sharma has been felicitated by Tulshi Prasad Tanka Devi Memorial Journalism Award 2074 in Pokhara on Saturday.

The award was established by Subarna Prasad Koirala who is the son of late Tulsi Prasad and Tanka Devi of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City- 5, Parshyang. Federation of Nepali Journalists Kaski chapter has been conducting this award. Awarded Sharma is the chief editor of Pokhara Express fortnightly, reporter of Deshsanchar.com and Radio Janani. She is also a councilor of FNJ, Western Regional President of Sancharika Samuha and central member of Press Chautari Nepal. She has been in journalism sector for more than 16 years.

Chief Guest and academician Tirtha Shrestha handed over Rs 20,001 to journalist Sharma including felicitation letter and Dosalla during a ceremony organized by FNJ Kaski. Senior folk singer Hari Devi Koirala, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s press expert Madhav Sharma, FNJ central committee member Ram Krishna Gnwali, award selection committee coordinator Punya Paudel and FNJ Kaski Chairman Dipendra Shrestha expressed their remarks during the ceremony.
