Foundation stone laid to build Pokhara Theater

Pokhara—The foundation stone was laid to build a Pokhara Theater in touristy town Pokhara on Monday. The formal program was carried out by Panchamrit Natya Samuha on the occasion of 56th World Theater Day.

Lawmakers- Sharada Paudel- NC, Rabindara Adhikari- CPN-UML and Tej Kumari Paudel- CPN-MC, from Kaski District jointly laid the foundation stone to construct a theater in Pokhara. Besides lawmakers, senior actors Prakat Pangeni, Hemanta Parajuli ‘Hitaishi’, landlord Shankar Nath Koirala and Nepal Drama Group Chairman Kishor Anuragi also expressed their remarked during the formal ceremony.

The theater is going to be built in 1 ropani land of Ghairapatan in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City with an investment of Rs 5 million. According to Panchamrit Chairman and construction coordinator Parivartan, the theater holds a capacity of some two hundred audiences. Journalist Raja Ram Paudel and actor Hemanta Hitaishi were felicitated for their contribution in their respectiv fields during that program.
