PYSP felicitates Karna Das, Rajan Kafle

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Pokhrali Yuva Sanskritik Pariwar (PYSP) felicitated singer Karna Das and sculptor Rajan Kafle for their contribution in their respective fields, in Pokhara on Saturday.

Singer Das was felicitated by Som Bajracharya Memorial Music Award (SBMMA). Meanwhile Kafle who is also devoted in installation art and face-art was felicitated by Lalitkala Award established by senior cartoonist Durga Baral. Nepal Music and Drama Academy Chancellor Saru Bhakta felicitated them with dosalla and Rs. 11,111 each in a formal ceremony organized by PYSP.

Karna Das is a Pokhara base popular Nepali singer who sang more than 1200 songs. He had come in limelight as he sang Jindagiko ke bharosa..some 10 years before. Singer Das was returned back to Nepal after his 10 years of stay in USA and now preparing for his new music album. Shanti Bajracharya established SBMMA in the memory of her late husband Som Bajracharya.

Similarly Kafle is also a famous Nepali sculptor who made hundred of sculptures and arts. Originally hails from Nepal’s Kavrepalanchok district, Kafle is active in Kathmandu these days. He has got dozen of felicitations and awards previously.

Chancellor Saru Bhakta, poet and awards’ jury leader Tirtha Shrestha, cartoonist Baral, artist Buddhi Gurung, Shanti Bajracharya, singer Das, artist Kafle, PYSP vice chairman Deepak Sameep and PYSP president Suresh Ranabhat expressed their views during the felicitation ceremony.
