Baburam Bhattarai announces Naya Shakti Nepal

Bhattarai, who resigned as a senior leader from then Unified CPN-Maoist but now CPN-Maoist Center, following the promulgation of new constitution of Nepal.

Bhattrai is the Chairman of Naya Shakti that was announced in Dasharath Stadium amid thousands of activists today. Bhattarai termed his party as a base of economic prosperity of the country. He also administered oath to his party members during the announcement ceremony.

Major political parties from Nepal and some authorities from diplomatic offices also took part in the announcement ceremony. Citing that old political parties can’t do development work in the nation, he had left his former party and disclosed the Naya Shakti Nepal. He also claimed that the Naya Shakti is different than other political parties and his party has historic responsibility for the development and prosperity of the nation.

In his speech, Dr. Bhattarai vowed that he would work for the youth and new generation with new vision. He also promised that he would not collect personal property for his wellbeing. Equitable prosperity, Proportional/Inclusive/participatory democracy, enhanced socialism, independence/sovereignty, good governance and good conducts are some of the commitments Naya Shakti announced today.
