HFC donates Rs 4 million to build a Karate training school in Pokhara

Pokhara—Young entrepreneur and former player Yagya Lal Shrestha has donated Rs 1 million to Nepal Shito-Ryu Seiko-Kai Karate Association (NSKA) for the construction of Karate School Training Center Building in Pokhara on Saturday.

NSKA is building that training center in Pokhara Metropolitan City- 14 as a fifth project of US based Himalayan Foundation Corporation (HFC). HFC had also donated Rs 30 million to build that training center which is expected to be an academy in future, in last February. In that connection, HFC founding Chairman Shrestha and Gandaki Province assembly member Rajiv Pahari jointly handed over two cheques to NSKA Chairperson Ms Sushma Gurung and vice chairman Mahendra Gurung during a formal ceremony organized inside that one storey building on Saturday. At the same time, Shrestha on behalf of HFC also handed over USD 200 to Nepal Sports Journalists Forum Kaski for a third Pokhara Sports Award that was held in last June.

Addressing a cheque handing over ceremony, assembly member Pahari appreciated Shrestha for his contribution to build a training center in Pokhara. He further added that the Gandaki Province government was mulling to develop Pokhara a capital of sports activities. Likewise, HFC chairman Shrestha expressed his happiness that he got an opportunity to support NSKA to build a training center in Pokhara. He also advised the Nepal Government to recognize the contribution of Nepalese players who played an important role to take Nepal’s pride in a new height.
