Pokhara–Naresh Bahadur Bhattarai has been elected as chairman of the Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara. Bhattarai who is the owner of Mt. Kailash Resort in Pokhara is a tourism department member of CPN-UML. The 28th annual general meeting and 15th convention of REBAN Pokhara formed a 13-member executive body including Bhattarai.
At the same time, Bishowraj Paudel was elected first vice chairman and Basanta Gautam was chosen as 2nd vice chairman of the organization. Bikash Bhattarai, Roshan Jung Karki, Bhishmaraj Paudel and Baibhav Paudel were elected general secretary, treasurer, secretary, and joint-treasurer respectively.
The convention elected Lok Bahadur Gurung, Yogesh Bhattarai, Bishnu Baniya, Birendra Sherchan and Lokprasad Dhakal as members of REBAN Pokhara. Laxman Baral is the immediate past president of the organization. Earlier, Gandaki Province lawmaker Rajiv Pahari inaugurated the formal program. Journalist Suman Dhungana was felicitated with a REBAN Journalism Award with Rs 25,000 cash and a felicitation certificate during the opening.
The first executive committee meeting picked 2nd vice chairman Gautam as a coordinator of the 24th Pokhara Street Festival that is going to be held during the upcoming New Year as per the Gregorian calendar in Pokhara. General Secretary Bhattarai became the coordinator of the Mini Street Festival which is being organized during World Tourism Day (27 Sept) every year for years in Pokhara.
