Pokhara— Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ishwor Pokhrel said that the probe report given by sub-committee under parliamentary Public Account Committee is not a verdict of any court. Speaking in a press meet organized by Press Sangathan Nepal Kaski in Pokhara on Saturday, minister Pokhrel accused the probe panel of forging the report in such a way that defames the government.

He also claimed that the sub-committee that prepared probe report has not any expert relating to aviation sector and some of the media is hyping the issue as like a court’s verdict. ‘It is a kind of conspiracy to defame the government’, he added. He claimed that the report earlier had not included name of certain person in wide body aircraft procurement process but the next day the name has been included in the report with prejudice manner.

He further claimed that the government won’t safeguard tourism minister Rabindra Adhikari if he is found guilty in the aircraft purchase deal. Minister Pokhrel said minister Adhikari should be punished if his involvement was proved in the wrongdoing. Pokhrel sought the inclusion of aviation expert in the probe committee either it is at present or past. At the same time, he expressed his dissatisfaction over the leaking of probe report before submitting it formally to the PAC.
