Dhading—At least five persons were killed and five other injured when landslide in two separate places buried houses they were residing last night, Nepal Police informed.
According to SSP Dambar BK, the incidents happened at Saiswara of Satyadevi in Khaniyabas Rural Municipality- 5 of northern Dhading and Chiuribot of ward 4 of same rural municipality.
In Satyadevi, the landslide swept away Raju Gole’s house killing Basuda Gurung, 32, Laxmi Gurung, 8 and Sarawati Gurung, 5. Similarly, the landslide claimed Shamsher Ghale, 60, and his wife Kopchi Ghale as their house was buried during the incident in Chiuribot.
Likewise, Deepak Gotame, Laxmi Gotame, Kalpana Gotame and Rabi Gotame got injured when landslide swept away their house at Darkha in Khaniyabas- 4. The incident sites fall in 1-day walking distance from the district headquarter. Most of the roads have been obstructed due to the heavy downpour and mudslide in northern Dhading. The incessant rainfall caused floods and landslides affecting some 16 households.
