Bhandari, Nepali awarded as player of the year

Pokhara—Body builder Kamal Bhandari and Siterio Karate player Bimala Nepali awarded as the player of the year in man and woman category respectively. Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) Kaski organized the third TVS Apache Pokhara Sports Award 2074 BS on Friday in Pokhara. Similarly, body builder Jivan Ghimire was honored as best coach of Kaski and cricketer Mekh Bahadur Sen Thapa was awarded as rising player during the program held in Pokhara City Hall.

Youth and Sports Minister Jagat BK, TVS Nepal authorized dealer Jagadamba Motors Pvt Ltd Vice Chairman Deepak Kumar Agrawal, Gandaki Dhaulagiri authorized dealer Batas Brothers Pvt Ltd director Pramesh Parajuli, Western Regional Development Committee Chairman Khagaraj Paudel and NSJF general secretary Prakash Timilsina distributed award to the winners.

Player of the year winner got TVS Apache motorcycle and Wego scooter respectively. Best coach and rising player got Rs 15,000 cash each including Samsung brand mobile from Worldwide Connection. Dr. Birendra Singh Gurung got lifetime achievement award and Kaski District Badminton Association was honored as best sport association of the year. This association received Rs 10,000 cash.

Journalist Santosh Pokhrel was honored with best sports tourism journalism award. He got Rs, 15,000 cash including Samsung mobile phone set. Singer Binod Baniya also was honored for his contribution in sports through singing, informed NSJF Kaski Chairman Keshav Pathak.
