Deuba elected 40th Prime Minister of Nepal

Kathmandu—Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba has been elected as a 40th Prime Minister of Nepal. It’s his fourth time as PM of Nepal. Deuba was proposed as PM by CPN-MC Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and seconded by NC leader Ram Charnda Paudel, Madheshi Janadhikar Forum Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachhadar including other leaders.

Deuba was only candidate of PM in Legislative Parliament that however saw the voting to elect him as new executive head of Nepal. Out of total 558 presented lawmakers in parliament, Deuba garnered 388 lawmakers’ vote while, 170 votes were casted in opposition side. Deuba came back as PM after the gap of 12 years and 4 months.
