Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Paschimanchal Development Region (PDR) won the golden medal in Lawn Tennis competition held under 7th National Games, in Pokhara on Sunday.
PDR defeated Armed Police Force (APF) 3-0 in male event. Kumar Magar from WDR outplayed Sriram Magar 6-3, 6-1 and Nabin Magar defeated Santosh Khatri 7-6 and 6-3 sets in a final competition held in the court of Pokhara stadium.
According to Khaga Raj Paudel, Chairman of Western Regional Sports Development Committee, this is the first golden medal for the development regions side of the national games.
Likewise, Nepal Police Club (NPC) won golden medal in women side. NPC outplayed Nepali Army (NA) 3-0 in team event. Mayika Rana from NPC defeated Abhilasha Bista 6-1, 6-1, Mayanka Rana defeated Aira Yam Raut 6-1, 7-5 and the team of Mayanka and Mayika defeated the team of Aira and Abhilasha 6-0 and 6-0 sets to conquer golden medal.
