Hira Bhattarai announces PCCI presidential candidacy

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Hira Bhattrai has announced her candidacy for the post of President of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) which is going to hold its 31st  convention in September 16 and 17.

Bhattrai, who is a president of Radio Janani and the Padmawati Handicraft Industry, announced her candidacy organizing a press-meet in Pokhara recently. With a slogan- strong and capable leadership for economic prosperity, she is the first female presidential candidate in the 60 years’ history of PCCI.

Bhattarai who entered PCCI as a founding member of Women Entrepreneur Development Committee some 14 years ago, said that she is vying for president to institutionalize the achievements she got. Bhattrai is a executive member of PCCI and also a founding president of Kaski Pokhara Handicraft Association.

According to her, she will make PCCI an inclusive and widespread institution coordinating with the entrepreneurs form other districts too, if she wins the President. She claimed that she will not only get votes from 467 woman voters of PCCI but also from most of the 2767 voters that have been registered as PCCI general members.

She also claimed that she will work to build airport, Bus Park and ring road in Pokhara if she becomes the PCCI President. ‘My candidacy is to take PCCI in a system not in an individualism,’ she said- so many people are giving me a confidence, I will go ahead but will not withdrawal my candidacy.
