Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Flash flood swept away 8 wooden bridges in Nepal’s Trans-Himalayan Mustang District on Saturday night, District Police Office Mustnag informed.

According to Bhim Prasad Pokhrel, chief district officer of Mustang, the giant rocks they followed along the flood also blocked the Jomsom- Lo-Manthang- Korala road. The drinking water pipe and Panighatta (grains grinding mill) also were swept away. Two families have been displaced as their houses were also hit by flood.

The flood hit mainly at Ghami village development committee- 8 and 9 in Dhakmar. According to local people, there is neither snowfall nor big glacial lakes, but how did the flood happen is being matter of surprise. But, again, glacial lake burst has been believed to be the cause behind the flood.

No human casualty has occurred and the details of the incident are due to be come. Most of the locals have been temporarily migrated to Pokhara, Kathmandu and India to skip the chill environment of Mustang. So, very few people are there in Ghami.

Police from Lo-Manthan Ilaka Police Office have been deployed in the incident site. The incident site is 15 km far from that office and 50 km from district headquarter Jomsom.
