Damu Adhikari elected PCCI chairman, rival Rabinsan Prajoo garnered 7 votes less than Adhikari

Pokhara–Damu Adhikari has been elected Chairman of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in Pokhara on Saturday.

Securing 7 votes more than his rival Rabinsan Prajoo in 32nd general convention of PCCI, Adhikari became the head of private sector in Pokhara region. Adhikari, who was the general secretary of PCCI bagged 1,478 votes while his only rival Prajoo, who was the senior vice president of that organization and chairman of ward number 3 of Pokhara Metropolitan City garnered 1,471 votes. Adhikari was said to be represented left panel and Prajoo was representing democratic panel that swept the election in almost all the posts besides chairman and some members.

Similarly, Narayan Koirala became senior vice chairman. He got 1,715 votes and his only rival Yadunath Adhikari garnered 1,235 votes. Likewise Ms Bindu Koirala got 1,711 votes to beat her rival Gita Tiwari who got 1,238 votes in vice president on chamber side. At the same time, Pawan Prajapati received 1,836 votes to thrash his rival Yamanath Paudel who got 1,105 votes on commerce side.

Likewise, Arjun Pokhrel was elected general secretary beating his only rival Kishan Sunar. Pokharel got 1,702 votes and Sunar garnered 1,248 votes. Surendraman Bijukchhe became treasurer bagging 1,502 votes while his competitor Prem Bhujel got 1,445 votes. Ms Chinu Gurung has been elected deputy general secretary getting 1,591 votes. Her rival Sita Baral got 1,388 votes.

Kumari Muna Bastola, Rudra Prasad Luitel, Keshav Bahadur Khatri, Dinesh Chandra Bastola, Sobhiyat Paudel, Balram Acharya, Nagendra Prasad Subedi, Rishiram Bhandari, Rameshwor Adhikari and Kriti Ballav Tripathi have been elected member in a new committee of PCCI.

Likewise, Chintamani Bastola, Tara Nath Dhungana, Sri Prasad Ghale and Hari Raj Panta became were elected as a member in objective association. In corporate site, Harka Bahadur Adhikari and Harihar Sapkota won the election. Suresh Bahadur Shrestha became member in industry site.  A total of 3377 members were eligible to cast the votes but only 2986 voters took part in election.
