Pokhara Mayor Acharya, Indian envoy Srivastava discuss issues of mutual benefits

Pokhara–Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya and Indian ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava discussed the issues of mutual benefits in Pokhara on Sunday.

They discussed the extension of the sister city relationship between Pokhara and many Indian cities, the tourism infrastructures of Pokhara as Pokhara is going to announce as the tourism capital of Nepal and the regular flight operation between Pokhara and many Indian cities as Pokhara is going to complete a new international airport very soon.

Mayor Acharya informed Srivastava that the Pokhara would like to be connected with Indian cities like Banaras and others through air service. He requested Srivastava to make a conducive environment to operate such flights. Mayor Acharya also thanked ambassador Srivastava for the development and other support in Pokhara region from the Indian side. Acharya expressed his expectation with envoy Srivastava for some mega projects that suit the tourism capital.

During the visit, Ambassador Srivastava praised the natural beauty of Pokhara and expressed his commitment to the support and development of Pokhara, coordinating with the Nepal Government. According to him, Pokhara where the Indian Pension paying office is also situated is in first priority after Kathmandu on the Indian list, and expressed his readiness to support any good project in Pokhara from the Indian Government side.
