Pokhara to host Nepal Open Paragliding Championship

By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara— Nepal Air Sports Association is to organize the 19th Nepal Open Paragliding Championship 2020 from February 23 to 29 in touristy town Pokhara. A total of 125 paragliders from 30 countries are expected to take part in the championship that is going to happen first time in Nepal.

Nepal, China and Indonesia will host the champions for the super final of world cup. Nepal Paragliding and Hanggliding Association will support the championship. According to championship coordinator and NAA former chairman Yogesh Bhattarai, selected players from Pokhara championship will get the chance of taking part in super final of paragliding world cup. Participants should have the license of Federation Aeronautique International to take part in the championship.  

According to NAA chairman Krishna Bhandari, 17 different sub-committees have been formed to successfully host the championship that will cost around 8 million rupees. The championship will be held in Sarangkot, Toripani and Mandre Dhunga area.
