Four cops buried in Muglin-Narayangarh road section

Pokhara—At least two cops were killed and other two went missing while a police van they were travelling buried in a landslide at Kalikhola last night.

Earlier at 9.40 PM , a truck with a number plate Na 5 Kha 7827 was also buried by landslide at the same location. A team of police led by Assistant Sub Inspector was reached to Kalikhola as they learnt the road was disrupted and the truck was buried due to landslide.

The accident occurred at the same time when the police team was returning back after reporting the truck burial. According to District Police Office Chitwan SP Deepak Thapa, the police van with a number plate Na 1 Jha 93 was blanked by mudslide in the site. ASI Nischal Tamang, police constable Deepak Kumar Maskey, Sandip Karki and Lil Bahadur Chepang from Ilaka Police Office Muglin were traveling the van while the tragedy happened.

Two dead bodies have been recovered from the burial site but their identity is yet to be known. The search operation for other two missing security personnel and road clearing task are undergoing simultaneously.
