Home Minister stresses on national consensus

Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: Home minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet Sunday said that the government was serious for dialogue with agitating Madhesi fronts and Tarai based parties. Speaking in a press conference organized by Press Center Nepal Kaski, Minister Basnet claimed that the government was ready to solve the disputed issues through talks.

We are ready and open for talks, he said, “I request the agitation parties to come to dialogue.” He also added that the government is ready to amend the constitution to address the genuine demands of agitating parties and federal alliance.

He further said that the implementation of newly promulgated constitution is a major requirement of the current time. According to him some forces want to dismantle this constitution but all parties should be united to implement the constitution with national consensus.

Every party including Madhesi have some reservation on this constitution, he added, “we can amend it as per the time being.” According to him, there could be amended everything besides national sovereignty and united Nepal, in the constitution. On an issue PM KP Sharma Oli ordered Minister Basnet to resign from his post in Chief District Officers’ transfer, Basnet claimed that he didn’t know about the issue of resignation.

He also said that the government is strictly working to maintain the law and order in the country; he further added- Ncell repeater towers’ attacked issue is exception and security forces are working to save the property of people and any institution.
