Kayaking competition to be held in Modi River

Pokhara—A kayaking competition is to be held from December 1 to 3 in Modi River of Nepal’s Kaski district.

The competition would take place in 300 meter distance of Modi River nearby Birethanti of same district. Npeal Kayak and Canoe Club as well as the Birethanti Canyoning are going to jointly organize this competition. Promotion of adventure sports and promotion of tourism are key motives of the competition that would be taken part by 40 players from Nepal and abroad.

The winner would bag Rs 50,000 cash, second would get Rs 30,000 and third would receive Rs 20,000. According to Birethanti Canyoning proprietor Bijay Gurung, he would like to see the development of adventure and water sports around his area.
