7th National Games begin in Biratnagar

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: The 7th National Games kicked off in Biratnagar of Eastern Development Region today. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari inaugurated the games in Biratnagar Stadium in a formal ceremony.

A total of 8 teams including 3 departmental- Nepal Police, Nepali Army and Armed Police Forece are going to vie in the games that are being held after 5 years of gap. Sixth National Games were held in Far Western Development Region. Eastern Development Region is hosting those games for the first time in the history of Nepal.

A total of 35 games are included in 7th National Games. But triathlon, swimming and body building competitions were held last year. Golf, snooker and billiard will be hosted by respective associations.

The games are scheduled to play in various six districts of Eastern Development Region. The competition of squash, Fencing and lawn tennis competitions are scheduled to be held in Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Pokhara respectively. The games will be closed in Dharan.

According to National Sports Council, 3972 players are taking part in the 7th National Games. A total of 1035–294 gold, 294 silver and 447 bronze medals are given to the winner players of 30 various games.
