Pho Lhosar Festival undergoing in Pokhara

Gurung people march in the street of Pokhara to celebrate Pho Lhosar on Thursday.

Pokhara–Comprehensive Tamu Pho (Mirga) Lhosar Festival 2075 is undergoing in Pokhara. The festival was kicked off the day before with a long rally in the street of Pokhara and with a mass meeting at Amarsingh Play Ground. Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Standing Committee member and chief whip Dev Prasad Tu Gurung inaugurated the festival organized by Tamu Pya Lhu Sangh (TPLS) central committee.

Gandaki Province assembly member Manbahadur Gurung, Tamu Hyula Chhoj Dhin Gurung National Council central committee vice chairman Yam Bahadur Gurung, Central Pachyu Committee chairman Kul Prasad Kromche Gurung, Pokhara Metropolitan City ward 29 chairman Chet Bahadur Lhenge Gurung, Nepal Aadhibasi Janajati Mahasangh Kaski Coordination Council chairman Dharma Gurung, Gurung Sahitik Forum Nepal president Gauri Gurung including others put their views during the formal ceremony chaired by TPLS chairman Hitkaji Gurung.

The program was followed by various cultural activities performed by the artistes of central youth committee and various districts branches. The festival is undergoing in TPLS office at Ranipauwa Shaktighat though the inaugural ceremony was organized at Amarsingh Ground. Various religious speeches, folk and duet songs, poem readings, documentary shows, felicitation programs, Bon Fire, Thaso, Chhyopa and sports activities would be included in the four day long festival.
