Five persons killed in Nepal’s landslides, floods

Pokhara—Five persons were killed and 7 others missing as a landslide hit Nepal’s Darchula district last night. Eight persons got injured during the floods and landslides. According to Nepal’s Home Ministry, the deceased were identified as Nandaram Bohora-77, Manmati Karki- 35, Janaki Thagunna- 35, Dhanuli Thagunna- 15, and Mohanram Parki- 68. They are from Naugadh Rural Municipality and Mahakali Municipality.

Ram Singh Thagunna, Bira Thagunna, and Jay Bahadur Thagunna who were injured during the landslide have been rescued and sent to Kailali of Dhangadhi for treatment. Nepali Army chopper airlifted them and a search operation is undergoing at the incident site. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepali Army personnel have been deployed for the search operations. Similarly, 11 households were swept away in the floods
