Pokhara—Tej Bahadur Gurung has been nominated as a member secretary of Gandaki Province Sports Council on Sunday. A meeting of Gandaki Province Council of Ministers picked Gurung in that post, informed provincial government spokesperson Ramsharan Basnet.
He was nominated as per the Gandaki Province Sports Development Act 2077BS. Nabaraj Adhikari was another contestant for the post. Gurung, who hails from Pokhara Metropolitan City- 16, Armala is a Chairman of Nepal Handball Association and the vice-chairman of Nepal Olympic Committee.
Gurung who is also a Chairman of Nepal Ex-Sportsman Forum has already published a 7-point working plan for the development of the sports sector of Gandaki Province. He is a master’s in English and political science. Earlier, a committee led by Gandaki Province Social Development Minister Nardevi Pun was formed to select a member secretary of this province.
