Pokhara—Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai has been unanimously elected as a chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council, which is an umbrella organization of tourism-related committees of this town.
At the same time, the 11th convention of PTC also elected Pom Narayan Shrestha as a vice-chairman of that institution. Similarly, Ram Chandra Sharma as general secretary, Tara Nath Pahari as secretary, Krishna Kafle as treasurer also were the executives of the new committee. Laxman Subedi and Shovakanta Paudel are the members of the new body. The executive body meeting will nominate rest two members.
Inaugurating the annual general meeting and the convention of PTC, Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung said that tourism is one of the hard-hit sectors of the Nepalese economy; so, there is a need to make the tourism sector vibrant amidst a Covid-19 pandemic. PTC founding Chairman Ashok Palikhe also put his remarks during the program.
