By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara–Dauphins Football Club Cameroon lifted the title of 6th Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup Football Tournament held in Lake City. Beating Armed Police Force’s APF Club 1-0, Dauphins bagged Rs 755,000. Runner up APF got Rs 405,000. Yannick Owona of Dauphins scored in 54 minutes in a final match held in Pokhara Stadium.
A total of 12 teams took part in the tournament organized by Kaski District Football Association. Raju Nagarkoti of APF became best player as well as best GK and got a Yamaha motorbike. At the same time, APF’s Ramesh Dangal won the prize of best defense. Similarly, Manang Marshyangdi Club’s Heman Gurung was awarded the prize of best mid fielder. Scorer Yannic also got the prize of best striker. He became man of the match too. APF’s Rajendra Tamang got the prize of best coach.
Risso University Japan became the most disciplined team. Sports journalist from Pokhara Umesh Pun was given a Rs 25,000 prize for his contribution through his lens in sports sector. At the same time, Nabin Pun also was felicitated for his contribution in sports sector. Likewise, Uttam Gurung was given a scooter for his contribution in football sector. ANFA chairman Karma Tshering Sherpa, ANFA Kaski chairman Milan Gurung including others distributed the prize during the concluding ceremony.
