NSU allegedly torch govt vehicle in Pokhara

Pokhara—Main opposition Nepali Congress’s student wing Nepal Student Union allegedly torched a government vehicle in Pokhara on Saturday morning. The pickup van which belongs to Pokhara Metropolitan City Office has been using by the District Education Development and Coordination Unit Kaski.

The Ba 1 jha 5879 vehicle was attacked nearby small and cottage industry office in Mashbar of Pokhara- 7. District Police Office Kaski Chief SP Om Rana said that they heard that the vehicle was torched by two youths who arrived in a white scooter. Saturday is a holiday in Nepal and plying a government vehicle in this day is supposed to be a misuse. PMC has condemned the incident.

It has been reported that the van was going to receive the PMC education department chief in his residence. According to local media report, two youths ordered van driver to come out and torched it after spreading petrol. The flame destroyed the vehicle though a fire engine had reached to control the inferno. NSU is in agitation against government so; the authorities suspect this organization against the torching. Police have arrested five students in connection with that incident from a hotel room.
