VTOF Nepal Gandaki to organize rural tourism festival in Pokhara

Pokhara—The Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VTOF) Nepal Gandaki Province is to organize a Rrual Tourism Festival- 2075 from March 7 to 9, 2019 in Pokhara.

Organizing a press meet at FNJ building today, VTOF Gandaki chairman Rabindra Raj Paudel informed that a total of 50 stalls from various villages would be included in the festival. At a time when Gandaki Province Government has allocated Rs 300 million budget to develop 300 homestays in this province, the VTOF Gandaki has come up with a concept of festival to support the government’s effort of promoting rural tourism.

According to VTOF Gandaki, typical Nepali foods and the food festival are also the attractions of the event that consists of 10 stalls regarding the foods from villages. Homestay entrepreneurs, tourism entrepreneurs, researchers, tourists and rural tourism enthusiasts would take part in the festival promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.

Different cultural activities, folk songs, dances and other musical shows would also be the part of the festival. VTOF has been promoting village tourism as well as providing homestay related training in various villages for few years. The organization had also organized Homestay Mart 2073 in Pokhara. A homestay mirror of Gandaki Province would also be unveiled during the festival this time. NTB Gandaki Chief Mani Lamichhane, officer Surya Thapaliya and VTOF Gandaki founding chairman Tara Nath Pahari also put their views during the press meet.
