Pokhara : Dr Govinda KC has ended his faste unto death strike today in Kathmandu. Today was the 24th day of his hunger strike.
He drank juice from a sanitation staff of TU Teaching Hospital. At the same time, former speaker Damannath Dhungana and former Chief Justice Sushila Karki warned that Dr KC will resume his strike if the government does not meet his demands soon.
Dr KC has been accusing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of not keeping his words regarding the medical education bill that was passed by both the upper and lower house of the parliament with majority votes.
Earlier, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader Gagan Thapa met Dr KC at the hospital and requested him to lift his hunger strike. Information Minister Gokul Baskota yesterday said that Dr KC’s all demand had already been met by the government.
