Kahun Dharahara Festival 2075 kicks off in Pokhara

Pokhara–The third Kahun Dharahara Festival 2075 kicked off in Kahun hill today. Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari inaugurated the festival that will be ended on December 23. Addressing the opening ceremony, minister Adhikari claimed that the construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport would be concluded six months before the stipulated date 2021 July 10.

Saying that the construction work of the airport is undergoing in full pace and the, minister Adhikari said- nobody could stop the construction work in this situation. He also claimed that Nepal would attract around 2.7 million tourists,  0.7 million more than the expected number 2 million in 2020 AD. Adhikari also claimed that Nepal would lure more than 3 million tourists in 2030.

The publicity of Kahun area and Deurali Temple, conservation of local culture, marketing of local products, conservation of national flower rhododendron, increment in length of stay of visitors are some of the key objectives of the festival organized by Jana Kalyan Club and co-organized by Fulbari Club. NTB has promoted the festival which is being continued after a decade. The first festival was held in 2062 BS and 2nd in 2065 BS.

National duet song competition, Bhajan Chudka and Ratauli song competition, open dance, art and poem competition, live music show, trade festival, cultural show, children parks and many more are the attractions of the festival. Similarly, sightseeing from view tower, food festival, mountain race and cycle race also are the specialties of the festival.
