Thakuri Samaj lifts the ward level volleyball title

Lekhnath—Thakuri Samaj Phirphire Babiyodanda has won the title of then Lekhnath Municipal ward level 6th Men’s Volleyball Tournament organized by Janakalyan Youth Club at Satmuhane in Pokhara Metropolitan City- 32.

Beating Bhanumati Youth Club Chainpur of Tanahun in a final match held on October 13, Thakuri Samaj bagged Rs 51,000 including medal and trophy. The runner up Bhanumati got Rs 31,000 with medal and trophy. A total of 12 teams had taken part in the tournament organized on the occasion of Dashain and Tihar festivals since the day of Ghatasthapana.

PMC ward 32 Chairman Akkal Bahadur Karki and ward 29 Chairman Chet Bahadur Gurung distributed the prizes to the winner teams in a concluding ceremony. At the same time, senior citizen Indra Prasad Paudel including other donors and family members who supported JYC from Nepal and abroad had been felicitated during the program followed by folk singer Sunita Nepal’s performance.

PMC ward 32 member Dharma Bahadur Basnet, Naulo Tara Club Chairman Kumar Thapa, former Chairman Shivaraj Adhikari, Kamal Thapa, Janatako Chautara Police Office’s Chief Assistant Sub Inspector Bilbahadur Thapa Magar including others expressed their remarks during the program chaired by JYC president Deepak Bikram Thapa and hosted by club secretary Shankar Marasini.
