Bus-truck collision kills 4 in Chitwan

Pokhara—Four persons were killed and 17 other injured when a bus and a truck collided along the East West Highway at Bhanuchok in Ratnanagar Municipality- 10 of Chitwan district last night, Nepal Police confirmed.

According to District Police Office Chitwan Spokesperson DSP Prabhu Dhakal, the Makalu Yatayat passenger bus which was heading for Kakadbhitta from Kathmandu and a truck that was coming from opposite direction met with an accident. The deceased took final breath in Chitwan base hospital.

Deceased have been identified as truck driver Mohan Ghishing, 34, of Rautahat, truck co-driver Buddhiman Lama, 30 of same district, bus passengers Tara Baral, 42, of Taplejung and Bishnu Prasad Thapa, 48, of Kathmandu.

The 13 injured being treated in a old medical college in Bharatpur while 4 in new. The cause behind the incident is being probed, Police informed.
