CM Gurung against Govt holiday cut off

Pokhara—Province 4 Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung expressed dissatisfaction over the recent cabinet decision of government holidays’ cut off.

Addressing a workshop organized by Tamu Hyula Choj Dhin (THCD) National Council in Pokhara today, CM Gurung claimed that the cabinet decision regarding holidays’ cut off was against the spirit of constitution and the decision should be withdrawn. According to him, Nepal’s undeveloped statel is not a cause of numbers of holidays but is a result of corrupt leaders of Nepal.

Saying that Province 4 is the old settlement of Gurung people, CM Gurung added this province would be named after forging optimum level of consensus among all castes, indigenous people and societies. He also reminded that the formation of new parliamentary committee to pick a name for this province. Most of the speakers in workshop urged the province assembly members to name Province 4 as Tamuwan state.

Lawmakers Indra Dhara Bista, Krishna Chandra Nepali, Gayatri Dura Gurung, Piyari Thapa and Hari Sharan Acharya also expressed their views during the program. Aadibasi Janajati Mahasangh Chairman Jagat Baram, Dr Om Gurung, THCD Chairman Resham Gurung, columnist Rajendra Maharjan and another columnist Yug Pathak also expressed their views during the workshop.
