Two persons injured in Pokhara paragliding accident

Pokhara—Two persons were injured in paragliding accident in Pokhara on Wednesday.

According to Western Regional Police Office Pokhara SP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, pilot Saroj Bahadur Bhattarai, 31, of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City- 6 and Bangladeshis national Ms Lamia Abdullaha, 12, were injured during takeoff in ward number 18, Sarangkot of same metropolitan at around 1 pm this afternoon.

They were rushed to Fewa City Hospital of Pokhara for treatment but Lamia has been discharged after treatment and pilot Bhattarai has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment, informed District Police Office Kaski.

According to Bhattarai’s brother Sunil Bahadur Bhattarai, pilot Bhattarai leg has fractured and recommended for operation. The lack of reciprocity between pilot and passenger is said to be the cause behind the accident.
