PTC elects new executive body

Pokhara: Pokhara Tourism Council (PTC), an umbrella body of 10 different tourism related organizations from western region has selected its new executive body for two years of tenure in Pokhara recently.

Kedar Nath Sharma has been unanimously selected as a committee’s chairman from the 16th Annual General Meeting and 9th convention of PTC held on March 27. Sharma is the former chairman of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Regional Association Pokhara and the Managing Director of Blue Sky Travel & Tours Pvt. Ltd.

Similarly, Som Bahadur Thapa is the immediate past chairman, while Bharat Raj Parajuli from Paschimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara (PHAP) was chosen as vice president in the committee. Krishna Prasad Bhandari from Nepal Air Sports Association (NAA), Ram Chandra Sharma from Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) Western Regional Association, Pokhara and Naba Raj Adhikari from Trekking Equipment Shops Association (TESA) Pokhara have been picked as General Secretary, Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

Ramji Ghimire from Taxi Entrepreneurs Association Pokhara and Narayan Prasad Sapkota from TAAN were given the responsibility of executive member in PTC. PTC includes Pokhara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI), Paschimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara (PHAP), Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) Western Regional Association, Pokhara, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Regional Association Pokhara, Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara Chapter, Taxi Entrepreneurs Association Pokhara, Pokhara Bus Entrepreneurs Association, Trekking Equipment Shops Association (TESA) Pokhara, Embroidery and Garment Association (EGA) Pokhara and the Nepal Air Sports Association (NAA).

According to PTC web portal, Pokhara Tourism Council (PTC) is a nonprofit making organization representing the tourism industry of Pokhara in Western Nepal. It was established in July 1995 as a Pokhara Toursim Promotion Committee and in 2002, officially established in the name of Pokhara Tourism Council with the major objective of playing role of coordinator to promote and develop tourism industry in Pokhara in an organized way.
