NT launches 4G internet in Pokhara, Kathmandu

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Nepal Telecom has started its 4G/LTE service for GSM postpaid mobile service in Pokhara and Kathmandu today.

4G is a fourth generation network which includes internet up to 32Mbps speed, claims NT. One can check his mobile network setting whether his/her mobile phone with U-SIM is compatible for 4G service or not. One should confirm and check mobile specification that his/her mobile should work in 1800 mhz.

According to NT spokesperson Pratibha Baidhya, user can dial *444# to activate 4G service to activate in free of cost. If this ways doesn’t work there is appeared a message requesting to upgrade the service. To upgrade for 4G network, NT’s Chabhil, Hattigaunda, Gogabu, Sundhara, Chhauni, Babarmahal, Jawalakhel, Sajha Bhawan, Thimi, Bhaktapur of Kathmandu Valley and Mahendrapool of Pokhara valley offices should be contacted.

This service is only available for GSM prepaid mobiles in coming Magh of Nepali calendar. According to NT, ntnet or ntwap is the APN options for 4G network. 4G network work works in fast speed but the data rate is as usual, claims NT. 1498- customer care number can be contacted for any query regarding 4G network. This 4G service is not available in iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 right now.
