Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Thousands of visitors thronged in second Ghachok Festival which is undergoing in Ghachok village development committee of Kaski.
People queued in front of the stalls of almond and milk items to have the local taste of Ghachok. The bought and tasted the local items while taking part in the festival. The festival was inaugurated by Minister for Commerce Romi Gauchan Thakali on Friday. He vowed to support for the development of Ghachok VDC during his address.
Nepal Democratic Sports forum president Devendra Sherchan, Nepali Congress Regional vice president Kamal Bahadur Gurung, CPN-UML regional president Bishnu Bahadur KC and Naya Shakti Nepal regional coordinator Toya Nath Bairagi had expressed their views during the opening session of the festival.
According to festival coordinator Bishnu Bahadur Chhetri, the event is being organized to promote the local items made of milk and almonds. YOUNEC President Mausham Karki claimed that the Ghachok festival is first festival of its kind which is being organized in village area.
Folk song singers Pahupati Sharma, Cholendra Paudel, Santosh Subedi, Ramji Paudel and Maya Gurung performed during the festival on Saturday. Ratauli competition also was held during that day. On Sunday, folk singers Jivan Dahal, Raju Pariyar and Tulasha GC were scheduled to perform on the festival.
First YOUNEC Dancing Idol is also undergoing on the sideline of this festival that is to be concluded on November 6, informed Youth Network for Change (YOUNEC) Ghachok vice president Bijay Lamsal.
