Pokhara Komagane Hospital handed over to Nepal Government

Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: The Matri Shishu Miteri Hospital (MSMH) that has been serving at Batulechaur in Pokhara has been handed over to Nepal Government today.

Merging MSMH and Batulechaur Health Post, the hospital was promoted to district level hospital with 25 beds, was handed over to Ministry of Health today. The hospital was inaugurated by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari in a formal ceremony organized in the hospital premises.

Hospital’s Former Medical Superintendent Chham Maya Pun handed over all the documents of hospital to newly appointed medical superintendent Dr. Prem Raj Pageni in the presence of President Bhandari. The hospital building worth rupees 120 million, equipment worth rupees 40 million and locally collected 5.2 million rupees found was handed over during the ceremony.

The hospital was established in 2011 under the sister relationship clinched between Komagane City Japan and Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City (PSMC) in 2001. Komagane City had established that hospital and has been funding for various equipment of the hospital. The Komagane City had funded 10 million rupees for the construction of hospital building and had donated equipment worth rupees 40 million rupees.

According to Hospital Development Committee President and the PSMC former Mayor Krishna Thapa, Nepal Government had allocated 11 million rupees and 5.2 million rupees from local people to establish a fund to run the hospital. The hospital has been serving especially in maternity and women health.

Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa, Komagane City Mayor Koji Sugimoto, former Health Minister Khag Raj Adhikari, Western Regional Helth Director Dr. Tara Nath Paudel, hospital president Thapa and JIKA- Nepal Director General Jun Sakuma expressed their views during the ceremony.
