MK Nepal becomes PM of Nepal

Pokhara: Fifty Six years old Madhav Kumar Nepal has been elected upopposed as a 2nd Prime Minister of federal democratic republic Nepal on Saturday. He is the senior leader of Nepal's third largest party Communist Party of Nepal Unified Marxist-Leninist.

Proposed by Jhalanath Khanal, CPN-UML president and seconded by Girija Prasad Koirala, Nepal's 2nd largest party Nepali Congress President, Nepal was announced as a Prime Minister in legislature parliament meeting.
Nepal was backed by 350 lawmakers of various 22 parties out of 25 parties represent in legislature parliament.

But UCPN-Maoist, the single largest party of Nepal boycotted the Prime Minister Selection proceedings citing that the new government was going to be formed under army supremacy instead of civilian supremacy. Other two parties also followed the Maoist move. Earlier addressing the legislature parliament NC Presidng Koirala stressed on consensus, coordination and unity among the political parties to take a peace process to the logical conclusion.

Similarly Maoist's leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that the PM selection process was a farce from political and judicial sides since the new government was going to be formed before the correction of the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav's move that reversed the decision of council of ministers that sacking of Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katwal.Following the president's move Prime Minister Prachanda who is the supremo of UCPN-Maoist resigned from the post on May 4.
