Lumle declared a Poetry Village

Lumle (Kaski): Lumle, a tourist village in mid Nepal, has been declared as a Poetry Village on Saturday. Lumle is also known as a Cherapunji of Nepal.

Tourism expert Mr. Jhalak Thapa inaugurated the program and Poet Vinod Gauchan, who is also a master mind behind the concept, declared the Lumle as a Poetry Village among the villagers and journalists.

Teej songs, rateuli songs, Gurung people's Tohotay culture, bhajans and various dances were the major attractions of the program. According to Mr. Gauchan, there are seven major proposes behind the poetry village concept. Tourism promotion of Lumle through arts, music and literature is the main theme behind the campaign.
