APF beat MMC to enter the semi finals of Aaha cup

Pokhara—Armed Police Force’s APF Club entered the semi finals of 17th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament. The solitary goal from Pradeep Lama in 70th minute remained enough to bye Manang Marshyangdi Club from the tournament.

Sanotsh Shrestha made it possible from corner kick that headed Lama to advance his club to the semis. Lama later became man of the match. APF did almost no post attempt in the first half but served fast game in 2nd half. Unlike APF, MMC created numbers of chases from the beginning.

MMC coach Tope Duja said that APF played very good game and also utilized the chance. But he further added that his boys failed to utilize number of chances. Similarly, APF coach Ratnakaji Maharjan said that his team won the game because his players played a team game. They, even being junior players, contributed equally and very well, he said.

It was a first quarter final game of the tournament organized by Sahara Club Pokhara. The second quarter final game is to be played between Tribhvan Army Club and Himalayan Sherpa Club on Sunday.
