Pokhara—Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Gandaki has decided to form district mechanisms to handle the party activities in respective districts of this province. Though it has been long of unification of two parties– CPN-UML and CPN-MC, there have not been formed any committee in district and local level yet.
According to NCP Gandaki Chairman Hitraj Pandey, the mechanisms would be formed of 10 members- five from then CPN-UML and five from then CPN-MC. District in-charge, chairman, vice chairman, secretary and deputy secretary from former and in-charge, joint in-charge, coordinator including others from latter would be included in the district mechanism.
After the formation of Province Committee, NCP Gandaki’s first meeting held on Wednesday has directed to form local level committees of 10-member in metropolitan city, 8-member committee in municipality and 6-member committee in rural municipality. At the same time, the province committee also directed to be formed district mechanisms to submit some suggestions about the party unification.
Following the decision of formation of district mechanisms, the party unification process in local and district level also began but who will lead the committees is still an unsolved question.
