Rabindra Bahadur Prajoo announces his presidential candidacy for PCCI election

By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara—Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) senior vice chairman Rabindra Bahadur Prajoo has formally announced his presidential candidacy for the upcoming 32nd general convention of that organization, in Pokhara on Thursday.

Organizing a press meet, Prajoo also made public his panel candidates and 22-point commitments for upcoming election slated for September 21 and 22, 2018. Narayan Koirala, who was the presidential candidate in previous election, is going to fight for the post of senior vice chairman this time. Similarly, Ms Bindu Koirala Subedi in vice president (chamber), Pawan Prajapati in another vice president (commerce), Arjun Pokhrel in general secretary, Surendra Man Bijukchhe in treasurer and Ms Chinu Kumari Gurung in deputy general secretary also are going to fight from Prajoo panel.

Likewise, Balram Acharya, Keshav Bahadur Khatri, Dinesh Chandra Bastola, Kumari Muna Bastoal, Kriti Ballav Tripathi, Buddhi Bahadur Gahatraj, Rishiram Bhandari, Shova Gautam and Rameshwor Adhikari have announced their candidacy for the post of executive member. Prajoo panel has claimed that their team is very inclusive and balanced. Addressing a press meet, presidential candidate Prajoo said that he would work for the unity and well being of all the entrepreneurs from Pokhara region. He further added that his panel would  be committed to make Gandaki Province as an international destination. Similarly, pure and clean drinking water delivery and hosting of investment summit in this province also are covered in his election manifesto.

Holding of various training to produce skilled manpower, construction of entrepreneur development section, support to traffic management and systematic parking in Pokhara also are the commitment of Prajoo panel. Prajoo who entered PCCI some 12 year ago, now relates Prajoo concerns, Prajoo Plastic Industries, Prajoo and Sons, Hulas Concern, Bajra Yogini Mata Trade Concern, Bardan Home Collection and Annapurna Surgical. PCCI general secretary Damu Adhikari had already announced his candidacy for the post of president. It has been believed that Adhikari represents left panel while his rival Prajoo panel is close to democratic panel.
